3 for 3

20 weeks 6 days

Last night we attended our 3rd annual Santa Claus parade with Madi and it was amazing. It was fun the last two years...but more fun for us in the we-should-do-this-because-we're-a-family-now type-way...honestly she didn't get much out of it.
This year was different. We still stood on the side of a slushy road as more and more parade watchers crowded around us. We still had to wait and shiver as the parade was again 30 minutes late starting. Where the past two years Madi sat still in her stroller, this year we had to take turns (with Drew doing most of the work) stopping Madi from running out on the road, down the hill, etc. But once the parade started, she was mesmerized. She quickly picked up on what the kids around her were doing and started yelling "Merry Christmas!" and waving as the floats went by. She happily provided a running commentary on all of the things she was seeing: "A plow, Mommy! A plow, Daddy!" or "Another firetruck, Mommy! Another firetruck, Daddy!" Despite my frozen toes and numb fingers, I can honestly say my heart was warm as I watched her begin to really feel the Christmas Spirit.
I can't wait to take her back next year...how different the collage below will look with a 9-month-old in it as well!
